  If you are interested in wooden boat restoration......

   This job is the ONE  (after the Maritime Museum Brigantines )

   We did start it .. 3 months ago & It is DONE .

   In this article you will follow the full process ..

   I am ading pictures & changing comments twice a week .

TURNING AROUND

 I will try during the next 2 weeks ( the time it will take to finish 

 this hull ) to describe a little better , our working process .

 ( taking care daily of this blog , is at least , one hour ) but I will try !!!!

 A wood hull is very interesting , because it does involve many aspects of

  boat wood restoration / caulking / primering & painting .

 As you know .... my writting english is far from perfect .( and "speling " do not work

 on this french blog !!! )

 But I will edit clear pictures with shorts comments ... in mixed english /    

  spanish /french....

Gypsy will be one of My best wood boat achivement.

 The next picture looks ...easy ..BUT !!!!!

 It is 4 weeks of work .. ready to be painted 08/12/2007

It is very frustrating for you because from the last 4 weeks

..... You see only White !!!!!           Me to ..

BUT WE ARE ALMOST DONE ! (the paint )

 But If you are a little artist .. you may see the bright on the last picture ...

 The next 4 pictures are Windows replacement

 ( 2 glasses with a plastic film between ...)

 It is a very difficult process / the wood frame was almost gone at removal .

 If you folow my work , You should know .. I always prefer restoring then replacing !

 I did use the old broked frame with West system epoxy . and 3M  5200

 as permanent sealer.

 _ I did said 3 month ago when we did start this project :

    It will be done by mid September ! We are almost there

    I am losing sheduled days because of the Heat wave .....

    My final coat did not flow well ... we will have to redo it ! ......

    We are working in the mid time on the deck / hardware varnishing / brass  

     polishing .    Full sun ... White paint ... It is VERY hot ....................

Ok It is over .....

 We did the final coat !!!!

 The picture is very bad / no sun ( thanks god )

_ Next week will be       Crazzzy ....

   Deck / varnish / Hardware polish ( in process ) / detailing .... But we will do it ...
